I recently picked up the Too Faced Melted French Kisses Holiday 2015 set and I must say, I have been loving it! At $35 SGD, it’s priced reasonably and you get four shades in two different formulas. I have a large lip stash which will probably last me my entire life so it’s impossible for me to finish a lipstick! So this set is perfect for me to try the different colours. This year, the Melted French Kisses set contains two bestselling Melted Liquified Lipsticks and two new Melted Metal shades.
Melted Metallic Peony is a light warm-toned pink with a glossy finish. I was impressed by how pigmented this was on my lips as usually light colours do not show up well on my pigmented lips. This is a shade for ladies who are lighter in complexion as the pale pink might not show up well on medium to tan skintones. One thing I noticed was that this colour accentuated the fine lines on my lips. Ladies with dry lips, do take note.
Melted Chihuahua is a brown nude shade. I personally cannot wear brown shades as I’m extremely pale and brown shades wash me out. π Nevertheless this is a universal shade that I think most people will enjoy. It is also said to be a dupe for MAC’s Velvet Teddy lipstick.
Melted Metallic Macaron is a bright pink with warm undertones and a glossy finish. It’s a lovely shade for days where I want a pop of pink on my lips to brighten my face. As it’s a metallic shade, it is more translucent compared to Melted Chihuahua and Melted Berry which are both very opaque.
Melted Berry is a berry shade, with hints of red in it. It is my favorite shade out of the four. The only con I have with this set would be that the applicator does not provide give a precise application. Hence with incredibly pigmented shades like Melted Berry, I find that a lip brush is a must! I love pairing this shade with either brown or gray smoky eyes and a cool-toned blush.
Usually long-wearing lipsticks can be drying but these are not drying at all! They feel so good on my lips β not the slightest bit tacky or sticky. I’m not too keen on the scent which reminds me of plastic, but I’m willing to overlook it as the scent fades away after a while.
Overall for $35 this set was a great value and I absolutely recommend it to everyone. You get soft wearable every day shades as well as a deep berry-red, which I will be wearing a lot of at my upcoming Christmas parties. Like Too Faced puts it, you get the lasting power of a stain and the intense color of a liquid lipstickβ the perfect party companion for any mistletoe action. π This set is limited edition so I suggest you run, donβt walk to your nearest Sephora! What more, Sephora Singapore is having a Black Friday sale. Get 15% off purchases with a minimum of $100 spent and Black Card members get 3X points. Happy shopping lovelies!
