August Favourites 2016

I can’t believe we are in September already! 2016 has been flying by. I have been really busy with school assignments so my blog posts are not as frequent as I would like them to be. Without further ado, here are my favourites for the month of August! πŸ˜€

August Favourites 2016

URBAN Care Biotin & Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner* has been working magic on my hair. The Biotin & Keratin range is actually for people with hair loss and weak roots that need strengthening. Yes, I admit, I have hair loss. I know this is shocking considering my age but this is due to a health condition I have. Goes to show that hair loss can affect people of any age. But I’ve been seeking treatment so that together with the shampoo and conditioner, my hair loss has been greatly minimized. Both the shampoo and conditioner are affordably priced at $14.90 and can be found at Watsons in Singapore. It’s also worth noting that URBAN Care products do not contain parabens.

Colourpop Super Shock Cheek Pearlized in Monster was my first non-lip product from Colourpop and at $8, this highlight packs a punch! The shade Monster is described as a light pink with highly opalescent duo chrome finish. When I first swatch this, I was amazed by how pretty it was! This highlight reminds me of the iridescent mother-of-pearl found in oysters. One word: gorgeous.

Clinique Cheek Pop in Pansy Pop is a recent addition to my stash and I have been loving it. The formula is easily buildable, and gives a nice sheen on the cheeks. You don’t have to worry about your blush fading with this because it will stay put throughout the day.

Philosophy Brighten My Day All-Over Skin Perfecting Brightening And Hydrating Cream has been my every day moisturizer for past few weeks. While it didn’t minimized the appearance of dark spots, pores and redness like it claims to do, it did leave my skin feeling soft and hydrated. It’s not too thick so it’s perfect to wear under makeup. πŸ™‚

Bottega Verde Concentrated Eye Brightener* (or Phytovital Concentrato Illuminante Occhi in Italian) has been my go-to eye cream lately. Just one tiny drop is enough for both eyes. This cream contains Mediterranean plant extracts to fight the ageing process. If you are not familiar with Bottega Verde, you can check out my post on the brand!

I rediscovered an old gem. The La Beaute Celeste Makeup Palette from Cle de Peau’s 2014 Beaute Celeste Collection. This is definitely up there in the “most expensive eyeshadows palettes” category but I must say, it’s worth every penny. The eyeshadows are so shimmery and pretty, and the blushes blend like a dream. I managed to snag this palette at a big discount so thankfully I didn’t have to pay over $200 for the whole set!

Siteground Web Hosting

A non-makeup favourite but I thought I would share this fantastic deal with my readers and fellow bloggers! πŸ™‚ From now till September 11th, my web host, Siteground, is offering a special promotion whereby they’ll provide free website migration and domain transfer and up to 60% savings on their web hosting plans!

I have been using Siteground as my host for My Beauty Musings since the very first day. I love how they have data centers around the world, in Chicago, London, Amsterdam, and Singapore!!! Yes, I’m overjoyed that they have a data center right here in my country. I want my dear Singapore readers to get fast loading times. If you’re getting around 10,000 visits monthly, their StartUp Plan is perfect for you! At just $3.95 per month, you get 10GB webspace and all the essential features.

I use WordPress so I’m currently using the WordPress plan. I don’t have to worry about always updating my WordPress to the latest version because Siteground will do it for me. πŸ˜€ They are a reliable web host (live chat is awesome as well) and till this date, I have not had a single downtime for my website! I do hope that if you plan on joining the Siteground family, you’ll sign up using my referral link. πŸ™‚ I’m a poor college student with web hosting bills to pay and an unhealthy makeup addiction (hahaha). πŸ˜›

Oh and if you were wondering, Siteground is not my first web host, and neither is My Beauty Musings my first blog. πŸ˜‰

Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? Do let me know! I’d also love to know what’s your favourite face moisturizer that you swear by!
